Al-Othaim Commercial Company is a continuity of Salih Al-Othaim Trading Establishment, founded in 1376h (1956) by late Sheikh Salih Al-Othaim.

The establishment opened its first shop in Al-Gosman at Al-Batha Market, a business and trading center by that time, and traded solely in foodstuffs.

In 1401h (1981), Mr. Abdallah Salih Al-Othaim and his brothers followed their father's steps and they expanded their trading scope by opening wholesale shops in the central markets.

In 1410h, the company decided to transform all its shops into cash & carry markets, and that was done in order to serve more people and to be more close to its clients. Also, to cope up with the vast developing trends in Riyadh city. By those and other measures, Al-Othaim malls have become the leader of its kind in the field of cash & carry and wholesale business.

In 1412h (1992), a grand warehouse was opened with a high standard of stockpiling to support the fast growing process of this company with its multi-branches. The warehouse was prepared to meet the dry & cold storage with modern systems. Besides, the automobiles fleet was increased almost to its double to meet the tight schedule of delivery and to facilitate dealing with vendors and clients.

By the root age of Al-Othaim name as a leader in the field of central and cash & carry markets the company continued to give good and interesting marketing experiment, with competitive prices, excellent services and quality, and all this was led not only by introducing new ideas in marketing but also in establishing a creativity concepts in dealing with vendors and clients, and also introduced new techniques in retail and wholesale business throughout its branches.

Al-Othaim creative concept experiment made the shopping easy and enjoyable, through accurate classification, and the ideal payment through the points of sales.

Also an Arabic Invoice was issued for the first time in the Middle East . The success didn't stop at its capability to develop & grow until it becomes the leader in the field of cash & carry and central markets.
