About the organization

Qatar Red Crescent is a voluntary charitable organization, was founded in March 1978. QRC has been internationally recognized in 1981 by the ICRC in Geneva, and joined the IFRC in the same year.


Qatar Red Crescent has all the privileges and immunities set out in the Geneva Conventions currently in force, and any other international conventions held in the future.It is also a member of the Secretariat of Arab Red Crescent Societies, based in Jeddah


Qatar Red Crescent Society originated in Qatar as a voluntary civil organization with legal personality and unspecified duration. Its headquarter is in Doha and work all over Qatar. QRC is considered the only Qatari authority that represents of International Red Crescent and Red Cross, locally and internationally, which has the right to carry and use the red crescent emblem according to the rules laid down in international conventions and a formal recognition of its legitimate government as a voluntary association of relief and assistance to the public authorities
